The 2010 all-star game ended up being a great match-up between the Blue and Red squads. The Blue squad represented the Wayland Police and Red represented the Wayland Fire Department.

Both teams battled it out and showed their skills on the field throughout the entire game. Early defense on both sides kept the game moving quickly, as the best outfielders in the league showed off what put them under the Friday night lights.

In the end the Blue team took a 10-4 victory thanks to great play by the WayCo athletes. All-stars Kevin Balben, Phil Hastings and the lefty, Dave Crismond, were very helpful in the win over Red.  Former WayCo player, now umpire, Jake Meyer, was very impressed with the play, “Just total gamesmanship on both parts,” said Meyer. “Both teams look really healthy and that’s what makes a winner. No surprises tonight. Just good softball; the best kind.”

On a side note the all-stars from both the Blue and Red squads teamed up to take on the LS softball leagues all-star team earlier in the night. It was a close game but the WayCo all-stars were able to come out victorious against their rivals LS winning 15-11.
